Less Cancer Announces Feb. 1 Launch of 2023 National Cancer Prevention Workshop and Initiatives - Yahoo Finance

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Representatives Debbie Dingell, John James and Terri Sewell, along with Dr. Danielle Carnival, Coordinator of President Biden's Cancer Moonshot Initiative, are featured speakers at the Feb. 1 launch event for the 2023 National Cancer Prevention Workshop and other initiatives. This year's 10th annual event, produced by Less Cancer, will focus on "Health Disparities and Access to Care in Cancer Prevention."

The February 1 event in Rayburn launches the 2023 National Cancer Prevention Workshop, which will be available for livestreaming at 9 am on February 2 at www.lesscancer.org.
The February 1 event in Rayburn launches the 2023 National Cancer Prevention Workshop, which will be available for livestreaming at 9 am on February 2 at www.lesscancer.org.

The launch will happen at 10 am on Wednesday, February 1, during the Next Generation Choices Foundation's (also known as "Less Cancer") National Cancer Prevention Day event in 2043 Rayburn H.O.B., Washington, D.C. Less Cancer's cancer prevention initiatives include the National Cancer Prevention Workshop, the U.S. Congressional Bipartisan Cancer Prevention Caucus, as well as the National Cancer Prevention Day.

"This week, we mark one year of the re-ignited Cancer Moonshot," said Dr. Danielle Carnival, White House Cancer Moonshot Coordinator. "The President and First Lady set bold but achievable goals to decrease the cancer death rate by at least 50% over the next 25 years and to improve the experience of people, their families, and caregivers from cancer prevention through survivorship. Reaching this goal to save and extend millions of Americans' lives will only be possible through a strong focus on cancer prevention and early detection. We've begun to make progress and will continue to prioritize actions in these essential areas, but it will take all of us, doing our part to end cancer as we know it today."

"Every year, National Cancer Prevention Day gives us the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the actions we can all take to reduce and prevent cancer. This year's focus on health disparities draws greater awareness to the alarming fact some individuals face a higher risk of developing preventable cancers. No one, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, gender or location, should have to endure a devastating cancer diagnosis," said Representative Dingell. "As a co-chair of the Cancer Prevention Caucus, I remain committed to working with my colleagues to bring awareness to this critical issue, increase access to important preventative care, and find ways we can halt cancer in its tracks."

Dr. Jolynn Gardner, who heads American University's Health Studies department, commented, "Since 2013, National Cancer Prevention Day and the Workshop have been dedicated to increasing awareness about cancer and educating the public and policy makers so they can make informed decisions for themselves and their constituents. It's an honor to be involved and to assist in highlighting disparities in cancer prevention and treatment by moderating panel discussions with medical providers, community health workers, and researchers who address these issues. The Workshop provides continuing education credits for Certified Health Education Specialists, and American University's Department of Health Studies has been proud to partner in this effort."

Following opening remarks by Bill Couzens, Founder and Executive Director of Less Cancer, speakers at the Rayburn event will include (subject to change):

New Protection and Defense Lightsaber 'Scrap Metal' Pieces Available at Savi's Workshop in Disney's Hollywood Studios - WDW News Today

After receiving new Peace and Justice and Power and Control lightsaber “scrap metal” pieces, Savi’s Workshop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a new series of Protection and Defense pieces.

A guide is available at Savi’s Workshop to pick out your lightsaber pieces before sifting through the scraps.

There are four scrap metal themes: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. All four collections received new pieces at Disneyland. Elemental Nature has yet to be replaced at Walt Disney World.

Savi’s Handbuilt Lightsabers is the custom Lightsaber building experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park (and also at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida). Guests must pre-pay $249.99 plus tax for the experience, which includes a lightsaber (a hilt, two sleeves, one emitter, one pommel cap, one set of activation plates and switches, and a 31″ blade), a cloisonné pin, and a lightsaber carrying case.

The in-universe story is that the Gatherers, who possess forbidden knowledge of the Jedi Order, are operating out of Savi & Son Salvage. On the surface, Savi sells scrap metals from old ships and devices. The Gatherers use his salvage shop as a cover to help Force sensitive beings craft their own lightsabers.

When you arrive at Savi’s, the Gatherers will show you the various collections of “scrap metal” they have to offer. Each theme has multiple options for most of the lightsaber parts, so once you are inside the workshop, the Gatherers will help you select the specific designs you want for your hilt.

For a close-up look at the old styles for comparison, see our detailed photos here.

Protection and Defense

Cultivated from a time forgotten, these earliest lightsaber pieces contain designs and inscriptions that are shrouded in mystery. Believed to be created for protection and defense, conferring anonymity and symbolizing emotional detachment, a lightsaber made from these pieces reconnects the user with the most ancient wellspring of the Force.

The icons on the switches aren’t the Protection and Defense emblem but rather the symbol seen in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. They use the same core color scheme — silver as the primary color with copper and golden accents.

Two of the sleeve options have “Force Wielder” on them, written in ur-Kittât — a Star Wars language often referred to as a Sith language, but which is also known as the Old Tongue and used by Force users of all kinds.

Armed drones strike Iranian defense 'workshop' in Isfahan - The Times of Israel

Bomb-carrying drones targeted an Iranian defense factory in the central city of Isfahan overnight, authorities said early Sunday, causing some damage at the plant amid heightened regional and international tensions engulfing the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian Defense Ministry offered no information on who it suspected carried out the attack, which came as a refinery fire separately broke out in the country’s northwest and a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck nearby, killing two people.

However, Tehran has been targeted in suspected Israeli drone strikes amid a shadow war with its Mideast rival as its nuclear deal with world powers collapsed. Meanwhile, tensions also remain high with neighboring Azerbaijan after a gunman attacked that country’s embassy in Tehran, killing its security chief and wounding two others.

Details on the Isfahan attack, which happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, remained scarce. A Defense Ministry statement described three drones being launched at the facility, with two of them successfully shot down. A third apparently made it through to strike the building, causing “minor damage” to its roof and wounding no one, the ministry said.

Iranian state television’s English-language arm, Press TV, aired mobile phone video apparently showing the moment that drone struck along the busy Imam Khomeini Expressway that heads northwest out of Isfahan, one of several ways for drivers to go to the holy city of Qom and Tehran, Iran’s capital. A small crowd stood gathered, drawn by anti-aircraft fire, watching as an explosion and sparks struck a dark building.

“Oh my God! That was a drone, wasn’t it?” the man filming shouts. “Yeah, it was a drone.”

Those there fled after the strike.

That footage of the strike, as well as footage of the aftermath analyzed by The Associated Press, corresponded to a site on Minoo Street in northwestern Isfahan that’s near a shopping center that includes a carpet and an electronics store.

Iranian defense and nuclear sites increasingly find themselves surrounded by commercial properties and residential neighborhoods as the country’s cities sprawl ever outward. Some locations as well remain incredibly opaque about what they produce, with only a sign bearing a Defense Ministry or paramilitary Revolutionary Guard logo.

The Defense Ministry only called the site a “workshop,” without elaborating on what it made. Isfahan, some 350 kilometers (215 miles) south of Tehran, is home to both a large air base built for its fleet of American-made F-14 fighter jets and its Nuclear Fuel Research and Production Center.

The announcement of the attack comes at a tense time in Iran, which has been rocked by protests over the death of Mahsa Amini in September, tensions over its nuclear program and accusations that Tehran has been supplying drones to Russia for the war in Ukraine.

Separately, Iran’s state TV said a fire broke out at an oil refinery in an industrial zone near the northwestern city of Tabriz. It said the cause was not yet known, as it showed footage of firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze.

State TV also said the magnitude-5.9 earthquake killed two people and injured some 580 more in rural areas in West Azerbaijan province, damaging buildings in many villages.

Iran and Israel have long been engaged in a shadow war that has included covert attacks on Iranian military and nuclear facilities.

Last year, Iran said an engineer was killed and another employee was wounded in an unexplained incident at the Parchin military and weapons development base east of the capital, Tehran. The ministry called it an accident, without providing further details.

Parchin is home to a military base where the International Atomic Energy Agency has said it suspected Iran conducted tests of explosive triggers that could be used in nuclear weapons.

In April 2021, Iran blamed Israel for an attack on its underground Natanz nuclear facility that damaged its centrifuges.

This photo released July 2, 2020, by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, shows a building after it was damaged by a fire, at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility some 200 miles (322 kilometers) south of the capital Tehran, Iran. (Atomic Energy Organization of Iran via AP)

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, but Israeli media widely reported that the country had orchestrated a devastating cyberattack that caused a blackout at the nuclear facility. Israeli officials rarely acknowledge operations carried out by the country’s secret military units or its Mossad intelligence agency.

In 2020, Iran blamed Israel for a sophisticated attack that killed its top nuclear scientist.

Iran has always insisted its nuclear program is for purely peaceful purposes.

In addition, Tehran has been accused in recent months of supplying drones to Russia for the war in Ukraine, which Iran denies.

The United Nations’ top nuclear official, Rafael Mariano Grossi, recently warned that Iran has enough highly enriched uranium to build “several” nuclear weapons if it chooses.

Efforts to revive a 2015 agreement with world powers that placed limits on Iran’s nuclear activities ground to a halt last year.

Both the US and Israel have vowed to prevent Iran from ever acquiring nuclear weapons, and neither has ruled out military action.

Games Workshop Group's (LON:GAW) investors will be pleased with their massive 395% return over the last five years - Yahoo Finance

For many, the main point of investing in the stock market is to achieve spectacular returns. And we've seen some truly amazing gains over the years. For example, the Games Workshop Group PLC (LON:GAW) share price is up a whopping 315% in the last half decade, a handsome return for long term holders. This just goes to show the value creation that some businesses can achieve. On top of that, the share price is up 44% in about a quarter. The company reported its financial results recently; you can catch up on the latest numbers by reading our company report.

So let's investigate and see if the longer term performance of the company has been in line with the underlying business' progress.

Check out our latest analysis for Games Workshop Group

There is no denying that markets are sometimes efficient, but prices do not always reflect underlying business performance. One imperfect but simple way to consider how the market perception of a company has shifted is to compare the change in the earnings per share (EPS) with the share price movement.

Over half a decade, Games Workshop Group managed to grow its earnings per share at 19% a year. This EPS growth is slower than the share price growth of 33% per year, over the same period. So it's fair to assume the market has a higher opinion of the business than it did five years ago. That's not necessarily surprising considering the five-year track record of earnings growth.

The graphic below depicts how EPS has changed over time (unveil the exact values by clicking on the image).

We consider it positive that insiders have made significant purchases in the last year. Having said that, most people consider earnings and revenue growth trends to be a more meaningful guide to the business. It might be well worthwhile taking a look at our free report on Games Workshop Group's earnings, revenue and cash flow.

What About Dividends?

When looking at investment returns, it is important to consider the difference between total shareholder return (TSR) and share price return. The TSR incorporates the value of any spin-offs or discounted capital raisings, along with any dividends, based on the assumption that the dividends are reinvested. It's fair to say that the TSR gives a more complete picture for stocks that pay a dividend. We note that for Games Workshop Group the TSR over the last 5 years was 395%, which is better than the share price return mentioned above. The dividends paid by the company have thusly boosted the total shareholder return.

A Different Perspective

It's good to see that Games Workshop Group has rewarded shareholders with a total shareholder return of 23% in the last twelve months. Of course, that includes the dividend. However, that falls short of the 38% TSR per annum it has made for shareholders, each year, over five years. The pessimistic view would be that be that the stock has its best days behind it, but on the other hand the price might simply be moderating while the business itself continues to execute. If you want to research this stock further, the data on insider buying is an obvious place to start. You can click here to see who has been buying shares - and the price they paid.

Games Workshop Group is not the only stock that insiders are buying. For those who like to find winning investments this free list of growing companies with recent insider purchasing, could be just the ticket.

'play time' celebrates maarten baas' childlike signature style at carpenters workshop gallery - Designboom

Carpenters Workshop Gallery presents Maarten Baas’ ‘Play Time’

From 14 February to 13 May 2023, Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Los Angeles will host ‘Play Time’, Maarten Baas’ first solo exhibition. Unfolding as a retrospective of the dutch designer’s early oeuvres, the show celebrates his childlike signature style with acclaimed collections, including Real Time, Clay, and Close Parity, as well as introduces his recently finished work dubbed ‘Children’s Clocks’.

Through his work, which is considered rebellious, playful, and intellectual, he seeks to find ways to deal with the phenomenon of time, and ‘rekindle the wonder of childhood within an adult environment.’ Somewhere between art and design, dream and reality, his creations exude a deliberate naivety and playful experimentation often worked in collaboration with children. For ‘Children’s Clocks,’ Baas worked with 720 children in the Netherlands and asked them to create 720 drawings illustrating the hands of these clocks. ‘As an adult you develop a lot of qualities. But hardly anyone can make a nice drawing. Yet, every child makes the best drawings time and time again. Their purity and originality is often better than any respected artist, ‘ shared the designer.

playfulness, childlike expression & purposely naïve forms

In his practice, the Dutch designer employs different means and techniques and experiments with various materials, such as metal and ceramic. Baas’ work carries a childlike innocence and honesty but this doesn’t conceal his elaborate masterfulness. ‘My work is often a self-portrait of my inner journey, finding a balance between the wisdom you gain and the open-mindedness you lose along the way.’

‘In Play Time the artist becomes Peter Pan signifying his life-long balancing act between growing up and remaining a child.’, reveals the press release. ”Grandfather Clock – The Son’ is a rudimentary take on the classic grandfather clock design, constructed from planks of wood in the manner of a treehouse. The digital clock face shows Baas as a child inside the clock, updating the hands minute by minute in bright paints to maintain the artwork as a functional timepiece.’

‘In contrast, in ‘Real Time – The Artist’, we see Baas as an adult, his full body visible behind a much larger, modern, and mature clock face. With a bare upper body and some paint, he seems to play a role as a typical artist in his atelier. The question remains as to whether he is in control of time itself, or if Time is controlling him.’

'play time' celebrates maarten baas' childlike signature style at carpenters workshop gallery
Through his work, Baas has consistently sought to reverse the natural flow of time

720 Minutes Clock: 720 children, 720 drawings, 720 minutes

For ‘Children’s Clock’, the designer worked together with 720 children, asking each to depict the time on one of these clocks. Using 720 unique drawings, Baas demonstrates the time across 720 minutes, the synopsis of months of preparation, filming, and editing.

In his ‘Real Time’ series, Baas plays with the natural flow of time in a theatrical performance. Within a giant clock, Baas keeps moving time forward, minute by minute, while for his character time moves in the opposite direction. For ‘Close Parity artworks’, drawing the impossible, defying the gravity rules, and being spontaneous were some of his driving forces. Assymetry and fluidity are the keywords that translated some illogical sketches into functional furniture.

Obsidian handaxe-making workshop from 1.2 million years ago discovered in Ethiopia - Phys.org

Obsidian handaxe-making workshop from 1.2 million years ago discovered in Ethiopia

Credit: Nature Ecology & Evolution (2023). DOI: 10.1038/s41559-022-01970-1

A team of researchers affiliated with several institutions in Spain, working with two colleagues from France and another from Germany has discovered an Obsidian handaxe-making workshop from 1.2 million years ago in the Awash valley in Ethiopia. In their paper published in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution, the group describes where the handaxes were found, their condition and their age.

The Stone Age lasted from approximately 2.6 million years ago, to approximately 3,300 BCE, when the Bronze Age began. Historians generally break the era down into the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. Prior research has shown that "knapping workshops" appeared sometime during the Middle Pleistocene, in Europe—approximately 774,000 to 129,000 years ago.

Such workshops developed as tool-making evolved into a skill. Individuals who developed such skills worked together in workshops to crank out enough of whatever tools were needed by those in the general area. One such tool was the handaxe, which could be used for chopping or as a weapon.

Handaxes were made by chipping bits off of a stone to make a sharp edge. They were not attached to anything; they were simply held in the hand when in use. The stones used were typically flint or, in latter times, obsidian—a type of volcanic glass. Obsidian, even in , is considered a difficult material to work with because it is so rough on the hands. In this new effort the researchers have found evidence of an obsidian handaxe knapping established far earlier than one has ever been seen before.

The researchers were working at the Melka Kunture dig site when they found a handaxe buried in a layer of sediment. They soon found more. They found 578 in all, and all but three were made of . Dating of the material around the showed them to be from approximately 1.2 million years ago.

Study of the axes showed them all to have been crafted in like manner, indicating that the researchers had found an ancient knapping workshop. The find marks the oldest known example of such a workshop, and the first of its kind not in Europe. The researchers note that the work was done so long ago that they are not even able to identify the hominids that made them.

Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein and fiancee Rajwa Al Saif visit art workshop for the blind - The National

Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his Saudi fiancee Rajwa Al Saif visited an art workshop for the blind in Amman on Monday evening in their first royal engagement as a couple.

Prince Hussein posted a photo on Instagram showing the couple with artists and their instructor, Jordanian painter Suhail Bukaeen.

The Crown Prince said that he and Ms Al Saif were “truly privileged” to meet “inspiring young artists who have conquered their visual disability through their exceptional talents”.

“It was heart-warming to witness their insightful and immense creativity first-hand,” he said.

The crown prince posted several clips of his visit to the art workshop showing him and his fiance speaking with the participants.

The visit marks the pair's first official royal engagement as a couple and they discussed their hopes and aspirations with those at the class.

“Each one of you has to create a drawing of our future home,” Ms Al Saif asked the students in one of the clips posted.

In another lighthearted moment during the visit, Crown Prince Hussein told the students his fiance could join them in their talents as she shared a love of drawing as well.

“But I’m shy of joining since you all have great talents,” Al Saif told the room, eliciting laughter.

Local media said that after visiting the workshop in the Weibdeh hill district in central Amman, the couple stopped at a small clothes shop in the neighbourhood.

It is owned by Abeer Rashid, who lost three children in a building collapse last year.

There have been several building collapses in the city in recent years, due to poor maintenance and substandard building materials.

The couple posed for photos with Ms Rashid in front of the shop.

Crown Prince Hussein and Ms Al Saif were engaged last August and are due to marry on June 1.

The Mumbai atelier that's the secret workshop of top French fashion - Yahoo News

Sitting in a lotus position, four men weave glittering beads through gold thread on an organza sheet, carefully constructing a wedding dress that will soon wow crowds at Paris Fashion Week.

For once, the French couturier behind the design, Julien Fournie, is determined to put these craftsmen in the spotlight: his new collection, showing in Paris on Tuesday, is entirely made with fabrics from Mumbai.

He says a sort of "design imperialism" means that French fashion houses often play down the fact that their fabrics are made outside France.

"The houses which don't admit it are perhaps afraid of losing their clientele," Fournie told AFP.

But that is absurd, he continued.

"India is number one in the world in embroidery. It's ancestral. They've been dressing maharajas in gold-embroidered outfits since the 16th century."

Fournie works with a company called Creations By Shanagar (meaning "to adorn" in Sanskrit), housed in a non-descript beige building near Mumbai's international airport.

Dozens of men in grey polo shirts sit cross-legged on cushions, heads bent over large sheaths of fabric. There is silence but for the clicking of needles and beads, the whirl of ceiling fans, and the occasional plane overhead.

- 'A lot of fantasy' -

For decades, they have played an essential but unsung role in the fashion industries of Europe, Japan and the United States.

"I like working with Julien because he is another master craftsperson who knows his subject very well," said director Chetan Desai, 55.

"He has a lot of fantasy. He comes up with his own concepts and I have to translate those ideas into embroidery.

"It has been a very challenging experience and at the same time, it has been very fruitful," he added.

Back in France, Fournie sends the compliments back.

"What they know how to do better than anyone is to embroider with degraded gold thread, passing it through transparent beads to create colour gradients. It's unprecedented," he said.

It gives silk an aged, elegant look for wedding dresses that "shine, but not too much".

"Haute couture customers don't want to look like a Christmas tree," he added.

"I've worked with great French embroiderers and each time it's complicated. Everyone wants to put in their own ideas and you never get exactly what you want."

- Star clients -

Desai's father set up Creations By Shanagar in the 1960s as a workshop for handloomed and embroidered saris.

In the 1990s, Desai looked further afield to France, partnering with Franco-Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaia on dresses that ultimately graced the likes of Naomi Campbell.

He does not divulge the current clients on his books but his past roster gives a sense of the high demand. They include Jean Paul Gaultier, Yohji Yamamoto and Donna Karan.

Even Hollywood came knocking, with Shanagar helping design Nicole Kidman's costumes for the 2001 hit "Moulin Rouge!".

The atelier attracts workers from across India, such as Biswajit Patra, 31, who has been working here since he was 16.

"I learned the trade in my village near Kolkata because my father was doing the same job and my brother and sister are also doing this job," he said.

Among their unique ideas is a way of rolling up pieces of tulle to make embroidered flowers.

"They have a range of techniques that we don't have here," said Jean-Paul Cauvin, director of Fournie's house in France.

One of the most delicate jobs is preparing the fabric once it arrives from India and heads for the workshop where it will be assembled into the dresses.

It is Fournie himself who irons out the fabric.

"Sixty percent of haute couture is ironing," he said with a smile.

This set includes 15 six-sided dice measuring 16mm along each edge. They are cast in a metallic green with pearlised swirls, featuring gold-coloured pips and the winged skull of the Astra Militarum on each 6 face.

Cadian Command Squad $45

Cadia’s officer class are exceptional leaders, serving in perhaps the Imperium’s most outstanding regiments. Trained to be the very best and surrounded by a cadre of hand-picked guards and aides, these uncompromising veterans expect no less from the troops under their command. Some are as inspiring as the regimental standards carried in their wake, while others are as motivational as the curt orders issued by their vox operators.

This multipart plastic kit builds a Cadian Command Squad, made up of a Cadian Commander and four Veteran Guardsmen. The Cadian Commander is armed with your choice of a laspistol, bolt pistol, or plasma pistol in one hand, and a chainsword, power sword, or power fist for the other. Each of the accompanying Veterans is equipped differently – one field medic with a lasgun and medi-pack, one vox operator with a laspistol and master vox system, one bodyguard with a laspistol and your choice of chainsword, power sword, or power fist, and one standard bearer carrying a lasgun alongside a regimental standard. The bodyguard and banner bearer can each instead be built as weapons specialists, armed with your choice of a flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun, or plasma gun.

The kit includes even more cosmetic choices to make your Command Squad stand out, like magnoculars, slung and stowed weapons, three finials for the regimental standard, and loads of different head and basing options than can be mixed and matched around the squad – enough to ensure that each Command Squad in your army looks like the unique veterans they are.

This kit comprises 123 plastic components, and is supplied with 5x Citadel 28.5mm Round Bases. Also included is an Astra Militarum Infantry Transfer Sheet, with 597 transfers featuring numerals, squad markings, and Cadian regimental heraldry. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

Cadian Shock Troops $50

Born soldiers, the Shock Troops of Cadia are trained for military service from the moment they can hold a rifle. Long years of rigorous firing drills have forged them into expert sharpshooters, skilled in both dogged defence and storming assault. Cadian Shock Troops are held by many as the ideal Imperial soldiers – with countless regiments mustered in their image.

This multipart plastic kit builds 10 Cadian Shock Troops – the core of many Astra Militarum regiments. Each Shock Trooper is armed with frag grenades and a reliable lasgun, led by a Sergeant armed with either a drum-fed autogun, or a chainsword with a laspistol or bolt pistol. The kit also includes a variety of special weapons to equip your Shock Troopers – a flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun, and plasma gun – as well as a vox-caster for battlefield communications.

You’ll also find loads of cosmetic options to ensure that no two squads of Shock Troops look the same – including variant poses, more than 20 different heads, sandbags, combat knives, a spade, a spare helmet, and plenty of bedrolls.

This kit comprises 131 plastic components, and is supplied with 10x Citadel 25mm Round Bases. Also included is a Cadian Infantry Transfer Sheet, with 597 transfers featuring numerals, squad markings, and Cadian regimental heraldry. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

Heavy Weapons Squad $50

While massed infantry can overwhelm the foe, it often falls to Heavy Weapons Squads to deliver the killing blow. These teams of gun crews swiftly set up their mobile heavy weapons as their comrades advance, providing the firepower to bolster battle lines. With access to an arsenal of portable armaments, they can offer close fire support with adaptable loadouts of precise – or indiscriminate – firepower.

This multipart plastic kit builds three Heavy Weapons Teams – paired infantry soldiers crewing a portable gun. Each team can be armed with your choice of a heavy bolter, missile launcher, mortar, autocannon, or lascannon. The kit includes plenty of cosmetic options to mix things up – extra ammo, seven different heads, a variety of poses, and equipment such as vox-sets and magnoculars for spotters and loaders – so no two teams ever need look alike. These teams can be fielded together as Heavy Weapons Squads, or combined with the Cadian Shock Troops kit to form Infantry Squads with attached Heavy Weapons Teams.

This kit comprises 127 plastic components, and is supplied with 3x Citadel 50mm Round Bases.

Field Ordnance Battery $55

Ordnance Teams crew some of the largest human-portable weapons fielded by the Astra Militarum. From bombast field guns that lob heavy shells over buildings and intervening squads, to the barrage of warheads fired from malleus rocket launchers, or the searing energy lances unleashed by heavy lascannons, these Field Ordnance Batteries are powerful assets to any general.

This multipart plastic kit builds two Ordnance Teams – mobile artillery platforms which together form a Field Ordnance Battery. Each Ordnance Team features a gunner and two spotters or loaders, crewing your choice of heavy gun – a wide-saturation malleus rocket launcher, indirect-firing bombast field gun, or vehicle-pounding heavy lascannon. The spotters and loaders are also armed with lasguns and frag grenades. The crew members can be mixed up with a variety of cosmetic options, including a choice of twelve different heads and a variety of arms, ammunition, poses, and accessories. You can also build each kit as though it’s being stowed, with no gunner on the seat.

This kit comprises 154 plastic components and is supplied with 2x Citadel 100mm Round Bases. Also included is an Astra Militarum Vehicle Transfer Sheet, with 475 transfers featuring numerals, sigils, and a variety of regimental heraldry. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

Rogal Dorn Battle Tank $90

The Rogal Dorn Battle Tank is a lumbering behemoth, equally suited to anchoring a battle line, or grinding forward in support of an assault. Bristling with thunderous guns, these hulking armoured fighting vehicles pound breaches in enemy’s defences with enormous shells, and tear apart infantry with raucous storms of fire.

This multipart plastic kit builds a Rogal Dorn Battle Tank – a mobile gun platform even larger than the mighty Leman Russ Battle Tank. The Rogal Dorn’s primary weapon is mounted on its turret – you can choose between the high volume fire of a twin battle cannon, or the intimidating power of an oppressor cannon with a co-axial autocannon mounted on its side. A secondary hard point on the hull mounts either a castigator gatling cannon to punish hordes of infantry, or a pulveriser cannon to take on enemy armour.

The kit includes an arsenal of optional weaponry – you can add optional sponson mounts armed with a pair of heavy bolters or multi-meltas, while optional forward mounts can house heavy stubbers or meltaguns. The tank’s tracks can be upgraded with additional armour, and you’ll also find extensive cosmetic options, including tow hooks, viewing slits, extra fuel, a search light, and stowed equipment. There are three crew members, including a spotter, tank officer, and a gunner for the pintle-mounted heavy stubber, which can be built with five head options or replaced with closed hatches.

This kit comprises 171 plastic components and includes an Astra Militarum Vehicle Transfer Sheet, with 475 transfers featuring numerals, sigils, and a variety of regimental heraldry. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

Armoured Sentinel $45

Sentinels are all-terrain bipedal vehicles, employed by the Astra Militarum to patrol rough ground or deploy rapid-response firepower. Armoured Sentinels are modified with extra protective panelling, making them superb front-line hunters. Carrying deadly heavy weapons into warzones too dense for battle tanks, these mobile hunter-killers excel in destroying vehicles, fortified bunkers, and xenos monstrosities.

This multipart plastic kit builds one Armoured Sentinel – a light walker toting heavy firepower on an sturdy frame. There are loads of options in the kit, allowing you to arm your Sentinel for any battlefield role with an autocannon, heavy flamer, missile launcher, multi-laser, or plasma cannon. You can additionally equip your walker with a poseable Sentinel chainsaw for more melee punch, and a hunter-killer missile for extra firepower. You’ll also find plenty of cosmetic options, including a searchlight and smoke launchers, stowage and spare equipment racks, and extra fuel canisters.

This kit can alternatively build a Scout Sentinel with an open cockpit, which trades durability for extra speed in warzones where mobility is essential.

This kit comprises 91 plastic components and is supplied with 1x Citadel 80mm Round Base.

Lord Solar Leontus $60

Arcadian Leontus is the Lord Commander Solar of the Astra Militarum, wielding vast armies against apocalyptic invasions, sector-wide insurgencies, and even distant campaigns beyond the Segmentum Solar. A master tactician and peerless scholar of military history, he is guided in his strategic decisions by an entourage of seers, advisors, and priests. On the battlefield, the Lord Solar strikes a figure akin to the heroes of old atop his cybernetic stallion, Konstantin. Levelling his blade at the foe, Leontus bellows orders that see the dutiful soldiers of the Imperial Guard achieve victory after victory.

This multipart plastic kit builds Lord Solar Leontus – a supreme commander of the Astra Militarum, riding his heavily-augmented steed Konstantin. Stood atop the wreckage of a fallen Titan, the Lord Solar proudly brandishes his relic power sword, Conquest, with his arcane pistol – dubbed Sol’s Righteous Gaze – holstered at his side. His commanding pose is further accented by his flowing cape and exquisite armour. The kit includes a choice of two heads – one with a stoic expression and closed mouth, the other bellowing orders to his troops, both clad in an impressive helm with a solar halo. If you’re looking for a truly impressive centrepiece for your Astra Militarum collection, look no further – Lord Solar Leontus is as high-ranking an officer as you’ll find.

This kit comprises 36 plastic components and is supplied with 1x Citadel 80mm Round Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
