Communal Hosts Fall Workshops To Get Your Creativity Flowing - There San Diego

San Diego’s creative-minded café & shop, Communal, has announced its October lineup of ticketed fall workshops!

Designed to collaborate and engage with the community, Communal fall workshops will feature community members who are experts in their field, be they mixologists, candle makers, florists, jewelry makers, metalsmiths or ceramicists, who will guide guests as they craft bespoke beautiful creations.

Saturday, October 8 | 3PM-5PM | North Park, 2335 University Ave San Diego, CA

Communal is getting the community in the autumnal spirit with the Fall Dried Floral Wreath Workshop on at their flagship North Park location. Brystal, Floral Lead at Communal, will guide guests through the art of designing their own intricate and fall-inspired wreath that will last the whole season, using dried florals, grasses and fine linen ribbon. The workshop includes all of the materials necessary to create a wreath as well as Communal’s best-selling charcuteries and beverages for each guest.

Saturday, October 8 | 1PM-3PM | The Annex,  407 Minnesota St, Ste. 105, Oceanside, CA

Sip and solder during Communal’s Fine Ring Workshop, led by Sangeeta Nair, metalsmith and founder of fine jewelry brand Ember and Onyx. Tickets include instruction and materials to make two 14kt gold-filled rings, a laser engraved gift box, stacking ring guide and materials list, charcuterie, and a glass of wine for each guest. This workshop will be held at The Annex in Oceanside.

Roen Candles

Saturday, October 15 | 1PM-3PM | The Annex, 407 Minnesota St, Ste. 105, Oceanside, CA

Guests will be able to create their own personally scented candle during the Candle Making Workshop held at The Annex. Brit Roennigke and Jenn Jaramillo with Roen Candle Company will guide guests through the process of building a balanced fragrance, with access to coconut wax, beautifully scented oils and all the materials necessary for candle making, all while enjoying wine and gourmet charcuterie from Communal’s kitchen.

Wednesday, October 19 | 7PM-9PM | The Annex, 407 Minnesota St, Ste. 105, Oceanside, CA

The fourth workshop in Communal’s Cocktail Club Series, this tequila-centered workshop will be led by Communal’s founder, Jen Byard, and Casamigos area manager, Annelise Lux, at The Annex in Oceanside. Guests will learn to create three eclectic tequila-based cocktails using Casamigos Tequila, complemented by charcuterie and signature pizzettas from Communal’s kitchen!

Saturday, October 22 | 1PM-3PM | The Annex, 407 Minnesota St, Ste. 105, Oceanside, CA

Learn the centuries old practice of pottery using the coil building method during the Ceramic Handbuilding Workshop at The Annex. Instructed by expert artisan Janna of isiko, guests can make two pieces of their choice, such as a bowl or vase to gift to a friend, or a mug, perfect for enjoying Communal’s beloved tea and coffee creations. Tickets include all clay, tools, and glaze necessary as well as charcuterie and wine for each guest. After completing their creations, the pieces will be dried and fired in Janna’s studio, to be picked up following the event.
